Civic Voice is the national organization for Civic Societies with over 250 member groups

The Friends of Sutton Park Association (FOSPA) was established in 1950 in response to suggestions that parts of Sutton Park could be developed for housing and other buildings. Since then the park has been granted a National Nature Reserve status and certain areas have SSSI and Scheduled Ancient Monument status. It is used by many hundreds of thousands of people every year for pleasure and recreational activities

FOSPA is also affiliated to the British Trust for Conservation Volunteers. It has a voluntary conservation team which works in partnership with the Sutton Park Ranger service to improve and enhance the rich mixture of wildlife and landscapes within the park.

Sutton Coldfield has an interesting history well documented by an extensive collection of primary sources housed in Sutton Coldfield Library. Members of the Research Group have access to this material, and enjoy studying it to find out about aspects of the history of the Royal Town. Completed research is published in our journal, Proceedings of the Sutton Coldfield Local History Research Group.

Members who wish to do research meet any Tuesday (2.00 - 4.30 p.m.) at Sutton Library, coming as often as they wish to pursue their research topic, with help from experienced members of the Group and library staff. All members receive regular newsletters with details of our occasional field meetings and public lectures, and a free copy of our Proceedings whenever it is published. Sutton Coldfield Natural History Society website is maintained by Dr Peter Coxhead. Topics include information about the Society and its programme, general information about Sutton Park and its natural history together with a check list of species

Sutton Coldfield Town Hall was built at the beginning of the 20th century and is one of the most important and prestigeous buildings in Sutton Coldfield. Today, it has many uses from live music, shows and exhibitions to a for weddings and meetings. It has richly coloured carpets and curtains, decorative glass and plasterwork, chandeliers and a magnificent vaulted ceiling. The website is maintained by Birmingham City Council.
